More fun in the snow!

After almost 24 hours of snow we have close to 8 inches of the fluffy white stuff in the front yard. So we headed back outside and took more pictures of Abby. Dave is on his third snow day... he's getting a little restless, there's only so much future planning he can get done. I'm thankful the storm fell on my weekend so I didn't have to venture out in the mess.

Abby went to bed last night about 6:30p. She stayed down, made a little noise but we didn't have to go in to comfort her. She woke up at 4:30a! She slept through the night, YEAH! And she's already went down for a nap. Gotta love it.

Two Months Old!

Oh my, how time flies. It's weird....it seems like forever ago since we brought her home from the hospital, yet it doesn't feel like we've had her all that long. Does that make sense? Yeah, I didn't think so.

So, what have we been up to lately? Well, we're currently in the midst of a St. Louis style blizzard. Four inches, yeah baby! I was off today and school has already been called off for tomorrow...a major bummer because it was supposed to be a half day! Peggy is groaning in my ear that she "worked extra hard today."

We took Abby outside in the snow today....her first snow! We took her Bumbo seat out for her to sit in. We haven't yet posted about the Bumbo seat, but will shortly. It started sleeting right when we went outside, so we didn't stay out there very long....just long enough to get some video and pictures:

In the bedtime arena, Abby continues to do well. For the past four or five nights, she's barely muttered after we put her down. And wouldn't you know it....exactly when I started writing that last sentence we hear moans and groans from her room....ugh. It's weird, whenever we sing her praises, she does exactly what we say she's been doing good at lately. Perhaps we should stop? NAH!

The last couple of days, Abby has been in a much better mood. She won't stop talking!!!! This is definitely exciting for us, but we know now that it has started, it will never end! But, it's really cool when she looks right at you for 10 minutes straight and just keeps talking. We finally feel like she's starting to interact with us and her environment. It's very exciting to see her develop each and every day. I know this is what everyone always says, but you really feel like if you blink, you'll miss something new.

We think she is starting to feel better. She started taking her pacifier again today (something she hasn't done in the last two weeks). The last two nights in a row she has gone to bed at night without getting up again! This is very nice for mommy and daddy. We usually put her down around 7:00 and then we get some time to ourselves to talk and catch up on our day. And maybe watch a little TV too! It's nice to have that time, and we definitely missed it for the last two weeks. Plus, last night we got to bed at 8:00! Wahoo. We were both (especially me) sooo tired from the last two weeks.

This morning she got up at 4:30, which daddy wasn't too excited about. She's currently napping. You might be wondering why I'm home. Well, there is a gunman on the loose in Arnold (the city my school is in). So, my school and one other in the district is closed for today. The best part is that we (I think) don't have to make up this day since the rest of the district is open! Muwahaha. I'm actually planning on going to school for a few hours later in the day to get some work done.

Anyways, that's the latest at the Pleimann household. Abby sounds like she's just waking up from her morning nap, so it's time to go be a daddy again!

Soccer night

We took Abby to her first soccer game last night. Cousin Rachel plays on an indoor team and they only have a few games left so we thought we would go watch her play. Abby stayed awake for the whole game, and Aunt Mary Kay enjoyed holding her very much. Cousin Morgan loves baby Abby, she holds her hand and pats her hair. Rachel did a great job and we had a great time watching her play.

History

What a sight. What a different world my little girl will know. No matter what side of the fence you sit on the history of yesterday is profound.

In other news, Abby is 2 months old! I can't believe it. At one of her many doctors appointments in the past week, she weighed in at 12lbs and 13oz! She is a good eater! Even though she's been a little under the weather with a nasty stuffy nose, she is still beautiful. She did great with Dave last night, she did stay down after 7p and slept until 3am! Amazing! Abby talks more and more every day, she has so much to say. This video was taken over a 5 minute period this morning and has been edited to 2 minutes for your viewing pleasure.

Fourth time's a charm? Hopefully!

Mommy is getting some WELL deserved time off tonight. She scored a couple of free tickets to Legally Blonde: The Musical from work. I (of course) didn't want to go, so she took Linda (who was super excited). I imagine they both needed a night out! So, it's a daddy night here at the Pleimann household!

To bring you up to date....last night we gave Abby some infant tylenol to help her sleep. The stuff works wonders I tell ya. She only woke up once after we put her down.

Today, she was quite fussy at daycare. Lisa called Peggy to come pick her up because she couldn't get her calmed down.

Tonight, I was definitely hoping for a good night. She didn't sleep much at daycare today, so we tried to put her down around 6:15. We gave her some tylenol around 6:15ish. Peggy left around 6:30, after Abby already woke up once. She took a little more of a bottle, and fell right to sleep. No more than 5 minutes later, she was awake again. I went back in there, picked her up, and she fell asleep right away again.

I was hoping that the third time was a charm, but it wasn't so. She slept about 10 minutes this time, and started crying again. By this time it was after 7:00. So, I picked her up again, and again she fell asleep almost immediately. I put her down, and now she's been asleep for 30 minutes, wahoo!

So, four attempts and more than one hour later, she's finally asleep. Usually if she's down this long, she's down for the night. This daddy is sure hoping that holds up!

We haven't posted any pictures in a while (we're just so busy between back to work for Peggy, and dealing with a sick baby), so here's one for ya!
