3 months old

Abby is 3 months old! We attempted pictures last night before her bath. She's already hamming it up in front of the camera.... She loves being able to lift up her shirt! Abby is now rolling on her side, and sometimes sleeping in that position. She loves sitting in her Bumbo seat so she can see everything.

A Sixth Sense

So, I'm pretty sure that Abby has a sixth sense. It is somehow knowing where her mother is at all times. Why do I say this?

Well, Abby has slept through the night about four times. Three of those times have been for Peggy. Why is this weird? Well, Peggy only has to get up in the middle of the night with her two days a week. The other five days, she's usually at work when Abby wakes up. So, I think it's weird that basically the only time she sleeps through the night is when mommy is home.

My second bit of "evidence" is that whenever Peggy does leave for work, Abby wakes up almost immediately. She has been doing this for a couple of weeks now. I asked Peggy to try to be really quiet when she left, thinking maybe that was it, but to no avail. This morning, I woke up around 1:20 (about five minutes before Peggy left) and she was definitely quiet. Yet (I swear this is true), about 5 seconds after she left, Abby started making noise. She talked for about 15 minutes while I rolled around in bed hoping she would go back to sleep. When it was clear she wasn't, I got up to feed her.

She's so adorable in the middle of the night, but it doesn't make getting up at 1:30 any better! And if she would only wake up about 30 minutes earlier, Peggy could feed her before she left. She gets up early so she has time to feed Abby just in case she does get up.

So, to sum it up, Abby somehow definitely knows that her mommy is not in the house anymore. Now to figure out how.....

Minnesota Trip '09

On Saturday Abby & I flew to Minnesota, we had a great time. She slept the whole way to MN, Saturday night we had dinner with Uncle Jon, Aunt Sally and Grandpa Bo. There are no pictures of this event because Abby cried almost the entire time. She was so exhausted from traveling and not knowing where she was, it was a rough go.

She did sleep throught the night and Sunday had a very big day. We got up early had a photo shoot in a metal bathtub, and then it was time to party. Lots of family and friends stopped by to meet Abby. She was not quite so cooperative. It was loud and lots of new faces wanted to hold her. She did the best she could. By 6:30p she was down for the night.

Monday she was her old self again. We went to the Aunt Kathys farm and saw Grandpa Bo's side of the family. Abby cried meeting them too. We even went outside and met some goats, she didn't cry then.

She slept really well Monday night.
Tuesday we saw Grandpa Bo one more time.

Grams drove us to visit Schotzie (Abby's Great-Great-Grandmother) and then it was time to go to the airport.

A quiet house

The girls took off for Minnesota for the weekend. They left yesterday afternoon, and will be returning tuesday night. It was a hard sendoff, realizing that this will be the first days that I've ever been apart from Abby (oh, and it's sad to see Peggy leave too ;-).

Abby did better than expected. Peggy was sooooo worried about the flight. Abby was crying going through security, and cried when the voices came over the loudspeaker on the plane, but fell asleep shortly after. She slept the whole way! Hooray! Peggy sounded very relieved on the phone.

I already can't wait to pick them up on tuesday night. It was really sad to see them go.

In the meantime, I've been getting a ton of work done around the house that I never have time to. I finished the taxes yesterday. I gave Proton a bath and have been trying to give her a lot of attention that she has been missing out on since Abby was born. I am going to finish planting my seeds today (yes, it's that time already.....I loooooove this time of the year, because spring is almost here.....that means thoughts about my garden and flower beds are already racing through my brain!) Oh, and I fixed our video editing software too, so look for more videos soon.

Today, my focus is getting all of my grading done and then starting to work on the doors (we bought new interior doors for throughout the house). We've had them for a month, but I've been way to busy to do anything with them yet. I'm hopeful that I will be able to get them done by the end of the schoolyear. That way this summer I can focus on redoing the bathroom, kitchen, or hopefully both.

Here is Abby and I "getting ready" friday night. I was exhausted after two full weeks of work! Oh the horror....no days off in two weeks (not to worry, I'm off tomorrow)! You might want to turn up the sound....

Yeah for sleep

Abby slept through the night last night! She took really short naps yesterday and crashed on her playmat about 6:30 last night. We kept her in the living room with us, until nine then gave her one more bottle and off to bed. She didn't wake up until 5 this morning. Yeah, I'm guessing the whole thing was random but it was nice for both Dave and I to get a whole night of uninterrupted sleep.

Just another day at the office

So over the past few years I've had the opportunity to meet some pretty cool people at work such Hanson, Cal Ripken Jr. and Joe Buck. It just comes with the territory. And today I think I met my favorite celebrity, Fredbird. Now I'm not a huge Cardinals fan, nothing against the team I'm just not that into baseball. In fact when I first moved to StL I pronounced Albert Pujols like Pu-J-ols, yes I pronounced the J in a broadcast class. But I digress.....

Today Fredbird came in for an on-air appearance about a Cardinal auction. I was in charge of getting him into the green room and hoping no one would see him without his costume. I was in charge of getting him on and off the set. If you haven't had the pleasure of meeting Fredbird in person, you are missing out, he like misbehaving four year old but its funny because he's in a giant bird costume. I took him on a tour of the studio, only three more days until we move! He took pictures with everyone including me! In all I spent about an hour and a half with the bird man. He did tell me as I walked him that I was now on the "Fredbird Hit List" for seeing him without the costume.

10 week check up

Abby had her 10 week check up Friday. She is in the 90th percentile for height and weight, 24inches and 13lbs 12oz, she's a big baby. Abby also had two shots, one in each thigh plus an oral shot for rotovirus. The weekend was rough, we had a lot going on and Abby was cranky. She has a hard time with shots. Hopefully the shots will get easier as she gets older.

Friday night we took Abby to her first Fox High School basketball game, she had a good time until the "buzzer beater"....it came down to the final seconds in the jv game, and Fox scored right at the buzzer. The pepband went crazy, the crowd wild and the buzzer was going off. Abby was not happy.....she screamed like we've never heard before. She also grabbed both of her ears and attempted to rip them off. We left shortly after that.

Saturday, Dave and Abby came up to work Saturday and the anchors fawned over Abby for awhile. She loved the attention, we then went to "National Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast" at Serendipity's a local ice cream shop. Abby was not so impressed with the long line and huge crowd. From Serendipity's we went to Cousin Lily's ice skating lesson. Abby slept through the whole thing. And to top off the 70 degree day, we had friends over to grill and play some wii. It was a big day.

Burrito Baby - Abby loves this blanket - whenever she gets really tired at naptime I swaddle her in it and she loves the way it feels on her face, usually puts her out in a few minutes. Thankfully both Great-Grandma Peggy and Great-Grandma Laura made her the same blanket, same yarn and almost the same size. Abby will never know when one is in the wash! (I hope)

We attempted to take one of us kissing Abby on the checks but it was difficult to get her to look forward when we were kissing her. On our camera there is a setting for it to take three pics in a row here's what happened.

Life at the Pleimann house has been busy, my station is getting ready to relocate in another week. We are working off actual tapes at this point as bits and pieces are moved to the new facility. This makes things very slow, so this week I worked 6 days... gotta love the overtime. Next week we go off the air Friday night after the news and won't start again until Sunday night. The new location is actually the building I used to work at when I was with CW, the building is beautiful but about twice as far from our house. The plus its all freeway driving verse the city driving I do now.
