In just the last week or so, Noah has really started to understand what we're trying to say. It is SUCH a relief. He gets very easily frustrated (I wonder where he gets that from), so him not understanding us or us not understanding him has been very hard.
He's now started to figure out how to tell us things. In each of the last two days, he's told me when he needs a diaper change. He walks over to where we change his diaper, points, and grunts a bit. I then say, "do you need a new diaper?" to which he replies "dipa!"
He then starts to pull out the red mat. Today, he handed me a new diaper and the wipes (after me asking for them).
The funniest part is him trying to lay down properly on the mat. We always sit by his feet while we change him, so he tries to orient his body in that way. But, he seldom hits the mark. When he lays down, he does this weird, shoulder first thing. So, he ends up turning his body 120 degrees from where he started.
Today, he laid down and got up to try again three times, and still couldn't get it. It was pretty funny. On his last attempt, he was completely reversed, head by me, but away from me. He started crying (again, he gets easily frustrated). So, I flipped him head over heels and changed his diaper.
