The names!

Since we decided not to find out the sex (although I think its a girl), we figured we would let everyone know the names we will be using (well, one of them anyways).

So, here they are:

Boy - Ethan Thomas Pleimann
Girl - Abigail Jane Pleimann

Luckily, both of those names had more "up" votes than "down" votes on our voting page (only 3 boys names and 4 girls names had the same fate).

The middle names are each family names. Thomas is the first name of Peggy's dad and my dad (as well as the first name of each of my two in-laws fathers....but that's another story). Jane is the middle name of Sally, Peggy's sister.

In other news, we "graduated" from our baby class last night. Overall, it was a pretty interesting class, and we're glad that we took it.

In other other news, we picked up the other two pieces of our baby set on monday (the dresser and the changing table). They are now totally set up, and in the nursery. We haven't quite figured out the layout of the room yet (apparently you're not supposed to put the crib under a window....so we need to do some rethinking), but as soon as we do and get a couple other things done, we'll post some (finally) finished pictures of the nursery.

And finally, here's a picture of our poor lonely onion. We'll just say that it never lived up to its full potential.

99 Days!

We're only 99 days away now!

Wahoo for double digits!

A girl?!? Maybe!

So, I'll get to the story about the title of this post in a minute. But before that, we have some pictures to share with you.

We picked our first carrot! Kind of a whimpy carrot for such a big plant if you ask me!



We got some of our baby stuff set up! Here's construction. Let me tell ya...some of these baby things look pretty simple, but they have A LOT of parts!

So, on to the story about the title. Peggy had another ultrasound today to make sure everything was on track. First of all, let me say that the baby appears perfectly healthy. Every measurement she took was right on track with what it should be.

We told the doctor on the way in that we didn't want to know the sex. To start off the ultrasound, she turned the monitor away so we couldn't see. She said that she could tell us the sex today if we wanted to.

Then she proceeded with the ultrasound. She got up to the face and was talking about the different parts. Peggy said something along the lines of "oh, look at his face." Then the doctor said "and there are her lips." Of course, I caught it right away. Then she sort of seemed to pause a bit, like she realized the mistake she made.

I didn't say anything because I feared that if I did she would say something like, "oh I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to say anything." Because then we would know for sure that it's a girl.

As if that wasn't enough to convince me that it's a girl, a few minutes later she said that it can sometimes be hard not telling a couple what the sex is. And, she said that she confused a lady one time by saying he. When the lady asked why she gave it away, she said that she almost always talks about the baby as a he when the couples don't want to know. Since she said she for us, that further solidified my belief that it's a girl.

So there you have it. I'm convinced it's a girl. Peggy is not so sure, but she didn't hear when the doctor said "there are her lips." I'm kinda bummed, because I really didn't want to know (but who knows, maybe I still don't know for sure...there of course is still some doubt in my mind....so it will still be a surprise....especially if its a boy!!!!)

The baby girl currently weighs 1 lb 11 oz. Oh, but Peggy says I can't say girl (even though I'm pretty sure). So, the baby weighs 1 lb 11 oz.

The crib is ready!

A couple weeks ago my parents gave us the crib as a present (along with the dresser and changing table, although we don't have those yet). We were very excited to get it put up, but couldn't until the baseboards and chair rail were done.

So now that those are done, we put up the crib!






In other news, we got our first tomato today!

A big decision!

So, I think we've made up our mind regarding the finding out the sex thing.

Here's what we're thinking. We're only 16 or so weeks away from the due date. We originally didn't want to find out anyways. It was only in the week or two before our last appointment that we decided we just couldn't wait anymore. AND, we know with one of our kids (not that any others are in the works yet obviously) we don't want to find out. We think that the last appointment was a sign that we aren't supposed to find out.

So we figure that we'll be four weeks past the normal "finding out" time with this child...so why not just wait a bit longer?!

So unless we change our minds (again), we won't be finding out the sex until november.

However, we've also made another important for you decision. We think we're going to tell everyone the names in a couple weeks (after our next appointment, which is on July 28).

Luckily, our boy and girl names both have more votes up than votes down (there's a hint for ya :-)

So there you have it. Assuming we don't change our minds, you'll soon know the names (but not the sex). At least then you'll know everything we know!

Getting the Nursery Ready!

Last week, we got the crib. We're excited to put it up, but were waiting until the rest of the room was finished.

After some hard work today, the room is almost ready! With the help of the "Bob and Tom" show (my grandpa and dad), we put new baseboards throughout the entire house. We also hung a chair rail in the nursery.

Other than moving some extra furniture out, the nursery is almost ready to start decorating!
