Bobo Birthday Visit

Bobo came to town this past weekend to celebrate both my sister and my birthday. It was a jammed packed weekend. We probably did way too much but it was a lot of fun.

We picked up Bobo from the airport Thursday and hurried downtown for Ringling Brothers Barnum &  Bailey Circus. It was loud but Abby never asked for her headphones, Yeah! Noah was less than impressed with the whole thing. He was really out of sorts over the weekend but now he's much better. Anyway back to the circus, we got there about an hour early so we could see some of the preshow activities.

 On Friday Dave had to work so Bobo and I took the kids to Purina Farms. It was kind of cool so there wasn't a whole lot of people there.

 Abby has a new love for kittens today.  She even asked if we could get one. I told her we can talk about it when she's five. I explained to her she would have to clean up his poop, that made her gag. So I think she's given up on that idea.

 We capture a lot of frogs/toads around here, Abby was carrying one around on Saturday but no one knows where it ended up.

 We had friends over Saturday night, the weather was perfect for grilling and a fire.

This was after dinner the other night.  I didn't start filming until we had already been playing this game for about 5 minutes....pretty funny.  Enjoy.

The Pumpkin Patch

We took the kids to the pumpkin patch last weekend.  We went to Stuckmeyer's Farm.  It's only 10 minutes from our house and it's free to get in! 

Abby wanted to ride a horse.  This was only her second time riding, so we paid for her to ride.  5 bucks!  Seriously?  For a 2 minute ride.  It was worth it considering I didn't see her first time riding.  I don't think we'll be getting any horse rides there anymore!

Abby has never done all that well with slides.  She has always fallen on her back and ends up sliding off the slide onto her butt or back.  Over the last couple of months though she's been a lot better.  She LOVED the slides at the pumpkin patch (they have a whole swingset)

Muscles!  She kept telling us that we need to find a smaller pumpkin because she couldn't lift them.

Picking out a small pumpkin for Noah.  She's such a good big sister.  She came up with the idea to make sure we got Noah one.  But, as she told us, it had to be a small one so he could lift it.

Abby wanted to try pulling Noah in the wagon.  We thought we'd give it a try.  Little did we know that she'd be able to pull him so well!  MUSCLES!!!!

Quotables - Missouri Flag

Noah's been fighting some kind of cold for over a week now and on Friday he had a hearing and vision screening through our early childhood program.... more on that later. During the hearing test they did a tympanometry test, which showed he was congested in his right ear. Well we let it go through the weekend and it didn't seem to be getting any better so yesterday afternoon I took him in to the pediatrician.

Abby LOVES American flags and points them out whenever she sees them.  On the way there Abby said "I see an American flag and an United States of Missouri flag too." I had to laugh she's so smart, of course it was a Missouri flag she was pointing out hanging under the US flag. Gotta love that little brain.

Up Too Early!

For several months now, 4AM wake ups have been the norm, not the exception at the Pleimann household.  After Noah started sleeping through the night, it seemed like all was well with the world again.  We could finally get some sleep after 4 months of limited sleep.  That lasted for all of a month or two. 

Then Noah decided that he wanted to party at 4AM.  So for the last couple months, he's been getting up to do said partying.  I would say that a couple of months ago 4AM was his average.  He's probably moved that average back to 4:30 now, but it's still a bit rough.  Once I get accustomed to waking up at a certain time, my body just automatically does it.  So, for the past few months I've been waking up around 4.  Every morning, I lay there thinking to myself "this is going to be the morning he sleeps in."  Then usually around 4:15 or 4:30, my hopes and dreams are shattered.

We've tried keeping him up later.  Yeah, that doesn't work.  The other night at the circus, he stayed up until 8:15 or so.  He was still up at 4:15 the next morning.

Last night, he stayed up semi-late, and he woke up this morning at 2:20.  Yeah, 2:20, seriously. 

Go back to bed little dude!

Miss Thang

Abby's bedtime routine is to go to the bathroom, brush her teeth, change, feed her fish, and read a book.  Last night I was in the bathroom with her.  It was getting late, and she was stalling.  So I asked her to sit down and go potty.  She still stalled and was taking forever.

Me: "Come on Abby, sit down and go potty."
Abby (muttering/whispering under her breath so I could barely hear): "You're crabby"
Me: "What?" (not fully believing what I think I just heard)
Abby: "Nothing"

Haha, I couldn't stop laughing for long enough to be mad.  When did she get so old that she knows how to mutter something under her breath?  And then to be smart enough not to repeat it?  Brilliant....

 We spend a lot of time drawing, stamping, playdoh and other crafts at the bar. Abby is all about the crafts. It's great, that she loves to be so creative. Plus she's getting really good at spelling her name. She does a great job spelling it but when you ask her to spell it, it oftens has an extra B or a G on the end.

And check out these guys out, she did this when I was changing Noah in the other room. She tells me he has bones. I can't believe how well she is drawing.
