Feeling Better?
Abby had a pretty rough night, although not as bad as I was expecting. Since Peggy stayed home with her all day yesterday and was totally worn out, so I agreed to get up for most of the time overnight with Abby. She woke up after only being asleep for an hour or so. It's tough because she wouldn't take a bottle, so there was really nothing we could do for her except hold her.
Well, Peggy ended up getting up with her a couple of times, as did I. Overall, she slept better than we expected she would. Peggy gave her a little more tylenol overnight. That helped her sleep from 1:30 to almost 6:00! Needless to say, I was quite happy.
When she got up, she still felt somewhat warm, but not as bad. I changed her diaper, but it was hardly wet at all. The nurse told us yesterday that if she wasn't peeing or had a dry mouth, we'd have to take her to the E.R. at Cardinal Glennon.
I got her bottle out of the fridge, and she just screamed. So, we sat down and I tried giving it to her. She pushed it away and kept screaming. So, I kept trying to give it to her. Eventually, she got the very tip of it, and realized it was very cold. She drank the entire 6 ounces!!!! I was relieved. She still seemed hungry, so I made her another bottle. Even though this bottle wasn't cold, she took another 3 ounces! She even almost smiled at me!
I'm feeling very relieved, although she's definitely not out of the woods yet. She's currently down for her morning nap, and went down almost without a fuss.

One very sick little girl
I'll let you be the judge....does this look like our happy, bouncy baby girl?
Not so much.
Abby woke up four times last night. A couple of those times we let her kind of fuss it out (she wasn't crying, just sort of talking/making noise). Four times is a lot....even for her. Knowing what we know now, we feel bad for not getting up with her.
Peggy got her up around 5:00 this morning. She noticed right away that she felt a little warm. So, she took her temperature, and it was 101.2F. So, we decided that Peggy would stay home to take care of our little girl.
At 8:30, she called the doctor and they told her to bring Abby in. There, she had a temperature of 101.7F. They tried to give her some pedialite, but she just wasn't havin' it. Then they cleaned out her inner ears (Abby screamed!) which were apparently very nasty (Peggy thought we were bad parents, but they said there's no way to get out the gunk in that far). Apparently this could mean she may be prone to ear infections.....great!
Then they tried to look down her throat. Yeah, that didn't go over so well either. Apparently her tonsils were slightly swollen, meaning she has a virus in her throat....sort of like baby strep throat.
They gave her some pedialite and motrin to take home. Unfortunately, Abby has not wanted anything to eat or drink since then. We're thinking that her throat just hurts her so bad. She seems hungry, but can't take the pain of eating.
In order to be able to give her the motrin, she has to be drinking plenty of fluids. Well, she hasn't been doing that, so we had to give her baby tylenol instead. They told us just to keep an eye on her that she doesn't get dehydrated, and keep offering her fluids (which she just screams at).
We did finally get her to stop screaming....sort of....so we seized the opportunity to put some baby tylenol down her sore little throat. About two minutes later, she was passed out (she only slept for 20 minutes, and only an hour and a half of naps so far today):

Memorial Day
We went over to our friends the Freemans for a Memorial day BBQ. Their daughter, Charlotte, is 10 months old. Abby is almost as tall as her but Charlotte definetly has couple pounds on her. They had fun reading books together... sort of.

No Air
No - I'm not talking about the Jordan Sparks song. 
Like my flowers? A potential guest (owns a flower shop) sent them to me, they want to get on my Saturday show to talk about a deal they have right now. I'm not having them on but the flowers are nice.
I'm talking about our air conditioning, it's broken. We just put it in a year and a half ago. Not cool. So Abby and I are sleeping in the basement tonight. Dave will too, but he's not home yet and we are already in our jammies because Abby crashed at 7:30 and I'm right behind her.
She had mixed veggies for dinner, carrots and peas. She was very unimpressed I think the weather plus the fact that shes just not a huge pea fan played into that. I like to think I've adjusted to Missouri summers but no way am I sleeping in this heat.
After dinner we played with Proton in the basement its probably 20 degrees cooler down here. It feels wonderful!

Tonight Dave is off shooting a wedding with his previous mentioned friend Kai. So the air problem is on hold until tomorrow when his dad can come over and help figure out what is wrong. Let's hope it's something they can fix on their own.

Exhausted
Busy day for the Pleimann girls. We had a morning playdate with Kari & Kyle. Kari and I worked together at The Picture People during college and Kyle is 3 months old. Abby was only interested in Kyle when I held him the rest of the time she was too busy sitting up and drooling everywhere!
Afterwards we headed up to FOX2 for a bbq/dessert contest. The winner of the contest gets a free personal day, 2nd prize gets half a day, and 3rd a bag of FOX2/CW11 goodies. I'm hoping for first. I don't know the results yet but I do know that after the judge had a bite my dessert disappeared rather quickly. I made candy bar pie, it was the only cold dessert. Everyone enjoyed it because it was close to 90 degrees and there was no shade. They also served lunch and had a bocce ball tournament. We had a quick meal, chatted up some channel 11 people I don't get to see too often and headed home. Abby was hot and so was Mama.
Like I said earlier I didn't have a camera but this is what Abby looked like when we got home.
Yep, that's an upside down Ribbit in the corner, he had a rough day too. Exhausted
