Trooper

Abby had to have more blood work done today since she's had the shakes a couple of times in the last month. She did a great job today at the doctor's office. Fasting is hard work for both Mommy and Abby. It's so hard to watch her ask for food over and over again and not be able to give her anything.

They put her hair in pigtails at school the other day. We couldn't believe how old she looks.
She is gaining weight on track she's up to 20lbs and 10oz. She had a meltdown the minute they laid her down on the exam table to take her blood. Today's nurse was so good with her. She had the blood out so quickly, Abby couldn't get back in my arms fast enough. We talked to her pediatrician Dr. A today. He referred us to the pediatric endocrinologist, his concern is that her pancreas maybe over producing causing too much insulin. This is the opposite of those with diabetes whose pancreas' don't create enough insulin. There are multiple reasons this could be happening. She is going to see the director of endocrinology at Cardinal Glennon. So I've already called and made her appointment (originally in february). Once the doctor saw Abby's blood work, they moved her appointment up by a month. I guess that means they think it's serious enough to "fit her in" (I think during the doctors normal lunchtime).

And have you met "Chicken Elmo" he sings the chicken dance song and does the dance. We hear it all day long. And oh the static, it's a dry winter here, Abby is just a little ball of static.
