Just back from the pediatrician. Guess what? Noah's right ear still has puss on the eardrum which means it's still infected. She also checked his left ear which has never been infected and that had water behind his ear drum. That's the first sign of an infection, sigh. So we had two options another round of oral antibiotics which may not work yet again or give him a shot of antibiotics in his butt. It's a bit extreme but it's just a shot today and one tomorrow and it rarely fails at clearing up the infection. The needle is really long and thick, like a penicillin needle. I hated doing it but it seems nothing is going to get rid of this infection.
His pediatrician also gave me the name of a few Ear, Nose and Throat docs so we can start the process of getting tubes put in his ears.
I can't wait. Not only does Noah need the relief from the pain but the whole family needs less extra early mornings and crabby baby evenings.
