It's been a week since I've updated on Noah's ears. The past few days have brought an amazing change in that boy. The shots really did a great job of getting rid of the infection. He's been happy, playing on his own and so much more aware of whats going on around him. Unfortunately, just like the antibiotics the medicine in the shot only lasts so long and in the last 24 hours, he's becoming his crabby self again. So we are hoping he can make it through the weekend without getting too sick because Monday is his one year appointment. We've decided no more shots, they were too traumatizing so hopefully we can get some antibiotics to hold him over until surgery.
An old friend from college who works at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital was able to get us in faster to see the Ear Nose and Throat nurse practioner. So yesterday we headed down to the hospital for our appointment. Noah was a trooper, letting her check out his ears and cooperated during his hearing test. He can hear fine, but he did already have fluid on his right ear again. We were able to schedule surgery to have tubes put in March 9th. So it's just two weeks from today when we should start to see a change in Noah for good. I'm so excited. Surgery only lasts about 10 minutes and we should be in and out within 2 hours, easy peasy.
