One of the coolest parts about being a daddy is watching Abby experience new things in the world around us. There are so many things that we take for granted that are completely new to her.
A couple weeks ago, we were at Taco Bell. Abby told us she had to go potty. Tried, but no luck. Sit back down, and she had to go potty again. Tried, but again no luck. Sat back down, and no more than two minutes pass, and she tells us again (she had a new love for public restrooms at the time....the day before she went to the Wal Mart bathroom six times in one visit!!!).
So, I took her in again. She sat down, did nothing, and got up right away. She's really not a fan of using grown-up potties. They're just too big for her. The worst part is that she loves to touch the toilet. She grabs the seat and bowl and looks deep down inside the toilet. It makes me want to vomit. But, with trying to get her dressed/undressed, etc. it's kinda hard to stop her from doing it. So, we've been doing a lot of hand washing in the public restrooms.
So, Abby washed her hands, and was standing in the restroom while I was washing mine. She was just walking around, when she apparently got too close to the hand dryer. It was a motion activated one, so it turned on. She jumped halfway across the bathroom. She then gave this thing a stare like I've never seen before. It was a mix of "what do you think you're doing" and "what in the heck is that thing." The look was priceless.
Needless to say, she's not a fan of hand dryers or automatic flushing toilets.
